Greek Heavens Yoga Retreat 2020

A week of yoga, sun and wholesome food, on a stunning isolated Greek island with a private beach. Perfect for couples, friends or solo travellers.

I’m hosting a fun, loving, nurturing yoga retreat in an intimate magical setting. Join me for a week of complete bliss! Ideal for both beginner and experienced yogis looking for an immersive week of yoga, clean eating, beautiful waters and hiking!

The retreat will be held at Evia Silence, a retreat centre located on Greece’s Beautiful Evia Island, overlooking the crystal clear Euboean Sea. Very much a hidden gem, off the beaten tourist track. After staying there myself and building a friendship with the owners, Evia Silence has a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

A typical day in the retreat:

Every day I will be dipping into the ocean for a morning swim, everyone is welcome to join. It’s a great way to wake up your body and mind for your morning yoga practice.

An energetic yoga practice, to get the sweat rolling and to boost your energy levels for the day, with a different focus each morning.

It will be a strong class to get you out of your comfort zone, with easier asana (posture) options for beginners, so that yogis of all levels can push themselves without being overwhelmed.

Vinyasa flow yoga helps build strength, stamina and flexibility, tones the core and the whole body, gives your metabolism a boost and helps you become more focused for the day ahead.

Each morning we will experiment with a different type of meditation, from movement-based meditation to traditional methods, to find one that resonates the most with you.

Delicious Greek vegetarian buffet breakfast

An unlimited buffet – luscious amounts of fresh fruits, the creamiest greek yoghurt, homemade muesli, pastries, breads, eggs, tea & coffee and more.

Evia silence has a beautiful outdoor setting – if you love snoozing in the sun, reading a book in the shade or floating in the ocean this is the time for you.

We have a beautiful private beach all to ourselves. The water is so fresh and crystal clear, you see your toes at the bottom.

If you are not the sun lounger type, there are also kayaks and other water toys for hire for a small fee.

Lunch: Lunch is not included in the package but there will be healthy snacks available daily.

Evia Silence has a beautiful menu of fresh Greek cuisine with the cost for a lunch being on average €8, alternatively explore a few local Greek taverns within 10 minutes’ stroll.

A guided hike / walk / jog / run leaving the retreat.

A complete workout in just 10minutes. A combination of yoga and HIIT (high-intensity interval training), this yoga practice focuses on muscle-building and cardiovascular fitness.

Each day a new topic will be covered in a workshop, from arm balancing, mindfulness tips, chakra activating, inversion practice and correct asana (posture) alignment.

Time to slow everything down – this is time for us to nurture our bodies with a slow steady yoga practice. We will rotate different styles of yoga each night:

  • Yin yoga – This is a deep, peaceful practice where each asana (posture) is held for 3-5 minutes. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. It helps us to regulate the body’s flow of energy.
  • Restorative Yoga – This usually only involves five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest.
  • Yoga Nidra – This is a stationary yoga practise, similar to a meditation. It promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. Deep breathing and guided body awareness calms the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health. Scientists have found 1 hour of Yoga Nidra equates to 4 hours sleep in its benefits to the mind.

Another swim maybe, shower, relax, have a wine while waiting for Dinner.

HIP HIP HOOORAY! A beautiful outdoor dinner setting under the stars.

An unlimited buffet of Greek / Mediterrean Vegatarian food including selections of soups, salads, breads, Greek moussaka, Greek potatoes and sides with the most beautiful flavours. Each night a different menu is served.

Vegans and any other special dietary requirments are catered for – please let me know when booking.

Evia Silence is a family owned business run by a married couple Harry & Efi. Like most Greek families they love to socialise with their guests. They have a beautiful bar with an exciting cocktail and mocktail menu. They serve amazing local wines at fantastic prices to a backdrop of music that can have you chatting and dancing to all hours!

All rooms have a sea view, private ensuite bathroom, private balcony, air-conditioning and kitchenette. Evia Silence is a newly-built premises, and all rooms are clean, modern and fresh.

Please note: Travel insurance is compulsory to attend this retreat, and must be purchased before departure.

Coming alone? Sharing a room is a great way to build new friendships and connect with like-minded people. I can arrange same-gender rooms if requested.

Flights: I can help advise when cheap flights come up, at the most ideal times for this retreat. Arriving early or leaving late will allow you to enjoy Athens – I can also recommend great accommodation and restaurants there.

Return flights to Athens

Transfers between Athens Airport and Evia Silcence – I can arrange private transfers for you for an extra fee depending on group size. Depending on people’s flight times, I will arrange a private bus which will leave at a set time and work out around €25 p/p each way.
